EP185: Collaborative Family Scheduling with Crystal Mickelsen
In today's episode, I'm chatting with Crystal Mickelsen, the creator of The Essential Calendar about how scheduling three months at a time can improve communication and collaboration. Crystal discusses: how we can encourage more collaboration with family to share the mental load of motherhood, how to communicate more effectively with family about the schedule, communication leading to less stress and more connection and how planning at three months at a time invites more flexibility and more intention into family life!
About Crystal
Crystal lives in San Antonio, TX with her husband, two sons, and their dog, Murphy. Her background is in interior design, and her passion for calendaring started several years ago when her gregarious oldest son finished kindergarten. He would pepper her with questions daily asking “What are we going to do today?” and “How many more days until I go back to school?” Out of the need to satisfy his questions and give their summer some framework, she created a large-format wall calendar that spanned Memorial Day to Labor Day, and that simple calendar has been an integral part of their family life since.
